• How do I apply? What are the requirements?
  If you would like to start tutoring with us you will first need to meet the following requirements:

  • 3+ years of full-time experience teaching or tutoring with a focus on standardized tests like the SAT or TOEFL.
  • Passing a practice test of the test you are going to teach with grades in the highest percentile (10% or better).
  • Passing our internal test with a 10+ grade.
  • Being committed to on-demand lessons and to be online during the hours you set as working hours.
  • Willingness to work at least 10 hours a week.
  • High-speed and stable internet connection of 5mb/s or higher (this will be verified).
• My experience with tests preparation is less than three years, can I join?
  Yes, you can! But you will have to complete our training course first.
  The training course lasts up to 5 weeks (depends on the test) and takes 2 classes a week (90 minutes each) and is:
  

  • available for the following tests: TOEFL iBT, IELTS, GRE, GMAT, ACT, SAT 2016
  • free during the first week, then you pay 1500 roubles for the rest 3-4 weeks and finally, after you have already started conducting classes at our platform, you are obliged to conduct 24 free promo lessons for your would-be students during 6-months period
  • based on own our materials
  • being hold in a discussion group format.
• How will I get paid?
  We use Paypal to pay our tutors. You will be asked to provide the account email during the tutor registration process.
  You will receive your funds within seven working days of the end of your session.
• Do you handle tax preparation?
  No. We do not handle tax preparation in any form.
  If you are based in Russia or anywhere outside of the U.S. please consult with an accountant or your local tax office before filing.
  If you are based in the U.S. you will be required to report this income. You may want to refer to PayPal's support page for links to the correct forms and reports as they handle all of our payments.
  Please note, we are not experts in your particular tax situation.
• I speak fluent English and have been teaching for years outside the U.S. Can I join?
  Absolutely! We built this site thinking of tutors just like you. We are certain that your skills and knowledge can be effectively used to help prepare English-speaking students to get the best grades possible.
• I registered as a tutor, what comes next?
  Thank you for joining us! To start teaching we'll need to ensure our compatibility and get to know a bit more about you. It usually takes two to three business days for a TESTutor executive to get in touch with you to set up a short video interview.
  If you are qualified and have already been tutoring you'll start earning in a few days!
